Habitat Restoration Aquatic Habitat Canada
H3M Environmental partnered with Aquatic Habitat Canada (AHC) to support the early development of the Aquatic Habitat Restoration Opportunities Database (AHROD) project. Leveraging its deep expertise in fish habitat restoration, aquatic mapping, stakeholder engagement, Indigenous relations, and applied geomatics, H3M played a key role in assessing the business case and gauging interest in the creation of a national aquatic habitat restoration database. Through this strategic collaboration, H3M helped AHC gain critical insights into the broader landscape, technical requirements, and stakeholder expectations that would inform future phases of the project.
At the heart of the engagement was a comprehensive stakeholder consultation strategy designed and executed by H3M. From developing targeted survey questions to conducting online surveys and in-depth phone interviews, H3M ensured a wide array of perspectives were captured. The team compiled and analyzed this data to deliver a robust engagement summary and final recommendations report. This included detailed technical guidance on GIS applications, data sourcing, and geospatial frameworks critical to the database’s success. By distilling stakeholder input into actionable recommendations, H3M helped lay a strong foundation for the AHROD project’s next steps.
